Condition: Near Fine

Description: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Almost as new copy of this scarce fragile early Bukowski. Krumhansl #16; one of approximately 500 copies, published in the summer of 1965 (and lacking the later emendation to the 'author's edition' making this the true first issue). Provenance: From the library and with the small neat ink signature at head of title page of noted Los Angeles poet and editor (of ONTHEBUS, etc.) Marcus (Jack) Grapes, a long-time correspondent and publisher of Charles Bukowski, who was also a fellow Loujon Press author (see OUTSIDER 4 / 5 in which they both appear). Some of the work in this rare collection was drawn from OUTSIDER, making this a particularly nice association copy.Milam, Betsy (illustrator); 1 b/w Illustration (upper wrapper); 1 b/w Photograph (portrait; Lower wrapper).
