Description: This is a very small, thick hardcover book that measures about 3" x 4". This is one of the books in the "Christmas Stocking" series published by Reilly & Britton in the early 1900s. The book is clean, solid and in great shape! This is a tiny hardcover book with 126 pages including some illustrations. The binding is strong with all pages firmly attached. The pages are clean with no writing or tears. There are a couple of pages that show some light soiling. The copyright page shows 1905 as the only date. The red covers are in great shape with just a hint of edgewear and some light soiling on the back. The front cover has a color illustration of a lady in white sitting on a tree branch. This old book looks and feels great! We always ship in a sturdy cardboard box!

The book is in good minus condition, free from rips, tears, bends and writing. There are terrific color and black and white illustrations throughout. There are a few ads on the back end pages. There are a few light stains on a couple of pages, an old bookstore sticker on the front end page and light red pencil and pencil marks on the back end page. The boards are in good minus condition with rubbing around the edges. The binding is tight and slightly askew. This is a fabulous collectible.

Description: Book appears well read with lower 1 1/2" of spine cracked and peeling at hinge, but still attached, the frontispiece is loose but present and a previous owner's name is on first page, dated 1909. Front cover is a touch sun faded but the pastedown is attached and complete. OW book has general wear at edges, tips and extremities, yet remains solid and complete with no other writing or marks within. A fairly square looking copy of this desirable title from the Christmas Stocking series. Book is 56 pages printed on one side only, so when it was bound the book appears twice as thick as if there were 112 pages. Introduction by L. Frank Baum, author of Wizard Of Oz. 3 pages of ads at rear for other titles from this publisher. A very fragile edition, indeed.
