Price: US$85.00 + shipping

Description: Book is VG or better except that fifty pages or so have the top corner torn away where someone, probably a child marked the place with a tear rather than a dogear. There is some light wear to the book otherwise, but this is a very attractive copy. The jacket appears to be from a later issue and has wear, tape repairs, chips, tears and scuffs. While it is still presentable, it is in the Fair to Good range. This was one of Ruth Plumly Johnson's contributions to the Oz canon and is the first of these books not to have any color illustrations beyond the cover art. ; Cover Art and B&W Drawings; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 306 pages

Ruth Plumly Thompson and L. Frank Baum. The Lost King of Oz. The Reilly & Lee Co. of Chicago, 1936.

Price: US$300.55 + shipping

Condition: Very Good

Description: The Lost King of Oz is 18th in the Oz series as continued by Ruth Plumly Thompson. This copy is in exceptional condition. It has a dust jacket that has been reinforced with a protective layer, there is slight pencil marking in the center under that clear protective cover, see pictures. There are two areas of the dust jacket that have been intruded and now have small holes. Under the dust jacket, the actual text is in fine shape. The book is bound in blue cloth, and except for the name "Vivian Gallagher" written in cursive on the "This Book Belongs To" page, this seller found no markings in the book. Vivian was kind enough to use pencil, so her inscription could be erased at buyer's description, acquired state has been maintained here. This book was published in 1936, as every year in the height of this series' popularity, a new edition came out. The latest entry on the inside rear flap of the dust jacket is Captain Salt in Oz, 29th in the series. In 1937, Handy Mandy in Oz was published, meaning this book was printed before Handy, and after Salt. Accordingly, this book predates even the celebrated movie. The book is illustrated throughout. 280 Numbered Pages.
