POUND, Ezra.. Canzoni.. London Elkin Mathews, 1911.

Price: US$1512.50 + shipping

Description: First edition, first impression, first issue; small 8vo; early newspaper portrait of Pound tipped onto the rear pastedown, neat ownership inscription to front free endpaper; publisher's streaked grey cloth, titles to upper board and spine gilt, spine a little dull; a very nice copy. An important early collection, preceding the composition of any of the Cantos proper but with many tell signs of what was to come. The book sold poorly and at least 500 sets of the sheet were issued later bound together with part of the print run of Ripostes. Gallup 3a.
