Description: 195/210 COPIES (of an edition of 225 copies) printed on Arnold handmade paper, the title, large initial letter to each of the poems and the colophon all printed in red, pp. xiv, 151, 8vo, original quarter dark green oasis morocco, the backstrip lettering and a four line rule to the backstrip and morocco overlaps all gilt blocked, very faint graze to overlap on upper board, backstrip very gently faded, grey-green bevel-edged boards with an overall design of thin black diagonal lines, matching morocco-tipped corners, t.e.g. others untrimmed with a couple of very faint spots to fore-edge, a few incredibly faint spots to endpapers, very good. Description: Large Octavo, orignal dark green oasis niger morocco over patterned boards, matching dark green oasis niger corner tips, gilt, lettered in gilt, designed by James Wardrop and his wife Evelyn, light wear to extremities, top edge gilt and others untrimmed, very nice. Of a total edition of 225, 210 copies were bound in this binding designed by the Wardrops, and this is number 89 of that 210. Wardrop had just joined the press, and this is the first production under his direction. Although he had not planned to remain at Greygnog, he did in fact stay and oversaw the almost entire remaining output of the press at Gregynog. Harrop The Gregynog Press, 36.

Original half green Oasis morocco and striped papered boards, lettered in gilt and ruled in gilt and blind; endpapers and adjacent leaves a little browned from the leather turn-ins; a few tiny spots; a fine copy. Number 109 of 225 copies, printed 'under the direction of James Wardrop, at the Gregynog Press, Newtown, Montgomeryshire; finished the twenty-second day of October, 1936' (colophon). '[Greville's] "Caelica" (published 1633) begins as a conventional sonnet sequence but gradually abandons Neoplatonism for pessimistic reflections on religion and politics' ('Encyclopaedia Britannica'). This edition is edited by Una Ellis-Fermor. 'The Gregynog Press, Montgomeryshire, was one of many artistic activities due to the enlightened philanthropy of two sisters, Miss Gwendoline Davies, C.H., and Miss Margaret Davies, LL.D. The standard of craftsmanship which was quickly achieved made it comparable with leading private presses in England and Germany' (Jones: 'The Gregynog Press', 1954; see page 36 for details of the present title). The original prospectus is loosely inserted.
