After this Chope goes on to spend most of the lengthy introduction endoring the work of Hill, also mentioning his previous (and very scarce) books The Arcadian Calendar and The New Inferno. The 25 plates are soft-textured and finely printed, either by lithography or a rotogravure process. Pictorial cover with title and picture embossed in gilt. Pictorial endpapers. Tips gently bumped, spine very lightly sunned. Interior paper, the text pages appearing to be hand made, are extremely bright. All plates have tissue guards.
