Binding has slight slant and some very minor wear at top and bottom of spine otherwise attractive, now protected in mylar. Inner hinge is partly cracked, but holding strong. Interior of book is very clean (no foxing), tight, with no former owner's names or marks. Over all an attractive copy.

Description: Signed by the author on a tipped-in leaf ("Faithfully yours: Joel Chandler Harris). Harris's sixth book, a collection of Georgia tales. Bookplate inside the front cover with penciled notation above it ("Autographed by author for"). The bookplate indicates that it belonged to Frederick W. Skiff, a noted collector and bibliophile. Interior text is clean with only faint, sporadic foxing, mostly to endpapers and flyleaf. Text block is faintly foxed. Boards are mostly clean with only a few small marks on the back cover. Binding is tight with slight lean to spine. Pictures available upon request.
