Description: 1898. No Edition Remarks. 424 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth with gilt lettering and designs. Ex Libris plate of Author Marie Louise Egerton Castle to front pastedown. Gilded text block edges. Black and white illustrated plates. Minor thumb marking, foxing and tanning to pages and plates. Not particularly visible to text block edges or pastedowns, much heavier to free endpapers. Moderate cracking to gutters and hinges causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild staining, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean.
