Price: US$500.00 + shipping

Condition: Very Good

Description: First U.S. hardcover edition (see brief publication history below). Near fine green cloth hardcover with black titles in VG- price-clipped dust jacket. DJ has some chipping and creases, but remains bright in a mylar sleeve. Tanning to page edges; but cover and tips are excellent. There is a Queens NY address on FEP, otherwise NO markings on pages. (Incidently, the Jamaica Hills address on 86th Rd. is just blocks away from Donald Trump's childhood home on Midland Parkway near St. Johns University and Captain Tilley Park. There is also a phone number: JA6-6971). Rand wrote this novella while working on The Fountainhead in 1937. Unable to find an American publisher, it was printed in hardcover by Cassell (London) in 1938. A paperbound edition came out in the U.S. in 1946, printed by Pamphleteers Press. The first U.S. trade hardback was published by Caxton Press in 1953. Ships fast with tracking.
