Description: Folio, 50 x 35 cm. 16 pages, 34 lithographed plates (after Jan van Rymsdyk). 20 double-page. Bound in publisher's green cloth, with gilt lettering and seal of the Society on front. Rebacked. Scattered foxing. Some fraying at margins. Text in English and Latin. The original plates for Hunter's work were acquired by the Sydenham Society which had this edition prepared just for its members. This edition contains the complete Latin and English text in parallel columns preceding the plates. "Hunter's best work and one of the finest anatomical atlases ever to be produced, anatomically exact and artistically perfect" - Garrison-Morton 6157 (1774 edition). Heirs of Hippocrates 944.

Description: Elephant Folio. Pp. 16. 34 plates. 1851 facsimle and first Sydenham edition. Bound in buckram with gilt spine lettering. Paper scar to the front paste-down endpaper, possibly from a bookplate removal. Text set in double columns, in Latin and English. Lithographed facsimiles of the original plates. Plates 32 and 33 edge-worn and darkened, have been repaired with paper, the other plates in excellent condition. A very good copy.
