Description: Volume 2 of 2 only. A fair copy in contemporary calf. Externally very good with an attractive tree calf binding with morocco labels, the front end paper has an old fold and a short closed tear. No markings or inscriptions. Unfortunately pp 49 - 56 have been removed, but could be re-inserted in facsimile. The last edition where Smith made revision, from the 1784 London edition.

Modern period rebinding in gilt-framed, full speckled calf, double red leather spine labels, with gilt-stamping in the spine compartments. Housed in a new brown cloth covered slipcase. A very clean copy of the magnum opus of the Scottish economist and moral philosopher Adam Smith, and is today a fundamental work in classical economics.
