Near Fine: tight and square in sharp green boards with a little sunning to the spine tips; bright gilt; a few tiny spots to the top-edge of the page block; very small mark to the ffep else very bright, crisp and clean. The unclipped dustwrapper (£1.90 net stated) is Good only: vivid, unfaded colouring; wear to the extremities with tape repairs to both sides at the foot of the spine and to the verso of the bottom of the front flap fold; faint damp stain by the rear spine fold and surface abrasion by the bottom of the front gutter; presents somewhat better than this sounds in a removable, archival-quality Brodart protective cover. Description: Very good first UK edition book in very good minus dust jacket. Dark green-blue paper covered boards and spine with gilt lettering on spine. Extremities are sunned, more so on tail of spine and lower edge of front panel. Foxing to outer page edges. Foxing starting on front and back paste-downs/end papers and occasionally in the margins of text pages. Dust jacket spine is faded. Upper and lower edges of front and back panels are lightly sunned. Most upper and lower edges are rubbed to some extent. Loss over width at head of jacket spine and carrying over to upper edges of front and back panels, 1 5/8" by up to 1/4". Loss over width at tail of jacket spine and carrying over to lower edges of front and back panels, 2" by up to 3/8". Lower fore-edge corner on front panel has loss of 3/4" by up to 3/8". Upper fore-edge corner on front panel has loss of 5/8" by up to 1/4" with adjacent 3/8" closed vertical tear along the fold. Back fore-edge corners have rubs with loss of up to 1/4".
