This very scarce book has much on the latter days of the fur trade, as the author was governor-in-chief of the Hudson's Bay Company's territories. He made his way across the continent from Boston to Vancouver; he travelled from there down the coast to SanFrancisco and reported on California in the early days of the gold rush.
