A previously unrecorded and unpublished letter from 1929, by Lawrence (T.E. Shaw) to British Columbia's first chief forester, Martin Allerdale Grainger, in response to Grainger's suggestion that Lawrence should consider settling down in the province. Lawrence's response is brief and unalloyed: 'I prefer England to anything I've ever seen elsewhere' and he continues 'The R.A.F. is the pleasantest thing I've ever found to do.' Renowned Lawrence scholar, Jeremy Wilson, provides the preface, while the foreword is by Don Stewart of MacLeod's Books, a noted Grainger expert.
