Description: 28/50 NUMBERED COPIES (the first ten numbered copies a deluxe version, from an edition of 70 copies) signed by Wilson and Stewart, frontispiece wood engraving by George Kuthan, text printed in black and green, facsimile letter printed- on vegetable parchment by David Clifford at his Black Stone Press, pp. 14, [ii], folding facsimile leaf, [iv], 8vo, wrappers of natural faux parchment paper by Reg Lissel, abbreviated title printed on front cover with extra rows of dots, and vertically on spine, with H.M on rear cover, fine. A previously unrecorded and unpublished letter from 1929, by Lawrence (T.E. Shaw) to British Columbia's first chief forester, Martin Allerdale Grainger, in response to Grainger's suggestion that Lawrence should consider settling down in the province. Lawrence's response is brief and unalloyed: 'I prefer England to anything I've ever seen elsewhere' and he continues 'The R.A.F. is the pleasantest thing I've ever found to do.' Renowned Lawrence scholar, Jeremy Wilson, provides the preface, while the foreword is by Don Stewart of MacLeod's Books, a noted Grainger expert.
