Grey, Zane. An American Angler in Australia. Harper & Brothers Publishers, New York and London, 1937.

Price: US$900.00 + shipping

Description: First edition (so stated and with the correct "B-M" code). vi, [2], 115pp. plus 35 photographic halftone plates. Title page printed in ochre and black. Publisher's gilt-stamped green cloth. A fine copy with very good pictorial dust jacket (jacket chipped at foot of spine and lower corners, less so to rear lower edge). One of the scarcest of Grey's fishing titles, especially in this condition. This title is notorious for faded covers, lacking the dust jacket, etc. Grey arrived at Sydney Harbor in January of 1936 to begin an eight month expedition to fish the coastal waters of Australia. Grey's party first cast their lines in the Tasman Sea and slowly moved northeast around southern and eastern Australia. Marlin and numerous species of shark were the chief catch including a world record 1,036-pound tiger shark.
