Description: Three volumes. 8vo. Publisher's half green leather and red cloth. cv, (3), 408pp; 495pp & 540pp. Spines with gilt stamping and bird design. Illustrated with 103 full-page color plates. Collated and complete. Ex-library set with numbers at foot of spines, institutional bookplates at front, ink numbers stamped on copyright pages and several other pages in the text and ink owner's signatures on the half-title of Vols 2 & 3. Each color plate has a small library blindstamp. A worn set with some soiling and edgewear to the cloth covers and some rubbing and wear to the spines. Vols 1 and 3 have some chipping to the upper spine. The text is all volumes is in good condition with some scattered foxing, occasionally heavy. Volume One's title page is reinforced in the gutter with cloth tape and the facing frontis engraving is chipped at the left side. The plates are all in very good condition. Some of them have some light foxing in the margin. The blindstamps on the plates are not that noticeable and the color images are clean and bright. Foreign postage will be extra on this heavy set.
