Ephemeral publication that was given away free on the streets of the Haight-Ashbury during the "Summer of Love." Published by Brautigan's friends at the Communication Company who were responsible for the daily flow of broadsides that kept the Haight community updated on current events. Very fine.

Description: First edition. Near fine in stapled pictorial wrappers. One of 1500 copies. Brautigan's fifth book. This very scarce book of 32 poems was originally given away free. Richard Brautigan was a literary idol of the 1960s and 1970s whose comic genius and iconoclastic vision of American life caught the imagination of young people everywhere. Although umarked this copy is from the library of poet Jack Gilbert, who most certainly would have crossed paths with Brautigan given his time in the Bay Area.
