The first page has been cut out and there is a paper clip impression on the second page. The front cover has a very slight ding on lower left. Otherwise, a nice copy of this hard to find collectible with many Avedon photos in his distinguished style.

Description: Oblong format (9 x 11 ins); pp 165 + [10] Publisher's white boards with titles in brown lettering to spine and front. With more than 100 black-&-white photographs by Richard Avedon. With the unclipped photographic dust-jacket with original price of $15.00 at the top of front flap, jacket torn at head of spine and on the back panel with a piece missing from lower section and two heavy crease lines. Signed and inscribed to the American-British socialite and HIV/AIDS campaigner, Marguerite Littman, and purchased directly from her house in Chester Square, London. Doon Arbus (b.1945) is the daughter of the photographer Diane Arbus and a noted rock 'n roll journalist writing for 'Rolling Stone' and 'New York Herald Tribune'. The Manhattan Project was formed in 1968 as an experimental theatre company which broke the norms of conventional theatre. The project lasted for several years and proved extremely influential. The photographs were taken by Richard Avedon during the production of Alice and Wonderland in a church annexe of Broadway on Park Avenue South.
