Spines are flaking, causing loss of lettering and graphics - see photos. Upper external gilt edge of Vol II is also flaking. Books are internal clean and text blocks are snug. He is perhaps best remembered, however, as a bibliophile, and among other collections, assembled one of the greatest collections of Americana ever, here memorialized and described in detail.
