Description: [Berkshire, England]: The Golden Cockerel Press, 1928. First U.K. Edition, Limited to 400 copies of which this is no. 26. Octavo (22.8cm); 34pp. 3 plates including frontispiece. No dust jacket. Marbled paper quarter bound with blue cloth along the spine. Top edge gilt, all other edges deckled. Includes gilt stamped title and author on spine as well. Slight bowing on front board and scuffing along head and tail edges of spine and margins of front cover but otherwise Very Good. Damp staining to bottom gutter of terminals. Pages slightly darkened along the fore edge but otherwise unmarked. All wood-engravings, including the frontispiece and the colophon rooster, are protected with full-page tissue guards. First translation from French to English of Abd-er-Rhaman's choice between the Christian and Muslim heavens after his death.

Description: First Edition, limited and hand-numbered #202/400 copies on the colophon page. Tightly bound in quarter blue cloth and marbled paper covered boards. Slight fading to spine color, a few small and faint spots, very minor edge wear and extremely slight bowing to the boards. The unprinted glassine overlay for the frontispiece has a tattered bottom margin. The Paul Nash woodcuts remain fine. Still a nice copy of a scarce title.
