Published by Hodder & Stoughton for The Daily Telegraph National Bands Fund. Includes 'National Bands' - a loosely inserted speech made by Rudyard Kipling in 1915. All sixteen colour plates by W. Heath Robinson are present and in very good condition. Jacket has patchy edge/shelf wear, few marks, browning (including to spine), minor patchy loss (mainly to head/tail of spine and to corners), few small (approx. 1cm) tears, pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine, pushing/bumping to corners, minor foxing and creasing/rubbing to edges. Boards are near fine (having been well protected by the jacket) with very minor pushing to corners, a few small marks, minor foxing, the odd small bump/rub to edges and a little pushing/rubbing to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Inside boards/end-papers tanned with the odd small mark/mild foxing. Odd small mark/minor foxing to page edges, tops and bottoms. Previous owner's name and address in pen to front end-paper. Pages little tanned. Odd small mark/scattered foxing to pages. No other faults. A nice copy. All books described honestly and accurately.
