Description: Edition limited to 1000 unnumbered copies in the publisher's green cloth with gold spine lettering, octavo, pp. 55 plus colophon. Frontis photograph of Dorothy Healy and other black and white illustrations. This copy SIGNED on the free front endpaper by four of the book's contributors (essayists William David Barry; Gael May McKibben; Frances W. Peabody; and designer Bruce Kennett) to Bella Cowan, Bangor native but Saco resident after 1964, and former owner (with her husband, Harold) of Sam's Place of Biddeford and then Main Street in Saco, where she was sometimes called "The Mayor of Main Street." This copy and its opaque dust jacket are graded FAIR-only due to old tide lines on the exterior, perhaps from a coffee spill (see image for our best attempt at a close-up). Clean and unmarked internally. Two little bonuses here for bibliophiles: (1) the inclusion of contributor Francis O'Brien, regarded frequently as the "Dean" of Maine antiquarian booksellers; and (2) printing at the venerable Stinehour Press.
