Description: The publishing date is not stated, the advertised price is one shilling or ten cents and the books were called, 'The Bob Novels.' The book has a tear at top of the spine for five cm, tears to the front and rear hinges to half their length with the webbing intact. The dust jacket is not price clipped, five per cent is missing and it has tears.

Description: The boards are quite badly stained. The front panel has a ring stain, five small dark marks and some light staining across the top half. The rear panel has one inch bands of fading at the top and along the right side, some white spotting to the bottom half and several black marks around the bottom left corner - possibly ink stains. The spine is faded and there is rubbing and bumping to the corners. Browning to the page edges with a one inch stain to the bottom edges. There are one inch creases to two top corners, the pages are slightly browned and the book has a slight musty smell but the pages are otherwise unmarked. No jacket. First printing.

Pre-war first editions in their vibrant dust wrappers are now particularly sought-after. Three Act Tragedy and Death in the Clouds, featuring the widely beloved Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, are both undated but estimated to be 1950 editions from the list of titles to the verso of the half-title, in which 'A Murder is Announced' is the most recent title listed.
