Description: 1949. First Edition. 252 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth covered boards with gilt. Black and white illustrations. Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Binding remains firm. A previous owner's name to front free endpaper. Boards have moderate shelf wear with mild bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. All surfaces tanned and sunned, particularly spine. Gilt lettering to spine is heavily dulled. Some additional marks and staining to surfaces. Book has slight forward lean.

The Orchid Trilogy was his most well-received and popular work.Illustrated throughout with vignette illustrations, as well as a number of plates.Complete with a very smart, unclipped dust wrapper.A first edition. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with the spine a little faded. Dust wrapper has the odd spot internally, but is excellent externally, with just a touch of wear to the head of the spine and hinge. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
