Description: Limited ordinary edition of 150 copies (not 300 as first intended) in plain paper over boards, from a total edition of 190 copies. Plain boards, spine-label, small 4to, 22 cm, [15] pp, portrait illustration by Michael Renton. From the introduction: "In 1922 Edward Thomas' widow Helen met the naturalist and writer, W.H.Hudson, just two days before he died. Her husband had formed a friendship with Hudson in 1906, and this book is a short account of Helen's meeting with him. An edited form was printed in The Times in 1965. Myfanwy Thomas has written a foreword, and Michael Renton has engraved a portrait of Hudson." Boards a trifle finger-soiled, otherwise Fine. Printed slip explaining that only 150 copies were printed laid in.

Description: Of this first edition of Helen Thomas' essay, printed by Simon Lawrence at his Fleece Press on Arches paper, 150 copies (of which this is one) were bound in blue Zerkall Ingres paper over boards and 40 special copies were signed by Myfanwy Thomas and bound in quarter cloth with a patterned paper design by Edwina Ellis. Paper label to spine and pale blue endpapers.Small Quarto. 215 mm x 170 mm, pp. [16] A book in Fine condition. The limitation page states that 300 copies were bound in Zerkall Ingres paper over boards, but a card slip states that "A Memory of W.H. Hudson was, by miscalculation,printed in an edition of 150 copies only, plus the 40 copies bound in patterned paper over boards."
