A presentable copy of Cather's historical novel of the American west, said to have been a strong influence on Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby. There was a signed, limited issue of 200 copies, generally easy to obtain, but inscribed copies of the trade edition are infrequent in commerce.

Description: 174 pp. 8vo, publisher's green cloth in dust jacket. First edition, first printing, state A; in the first binding. Contemporary ink inscription to half-title page, else a near fine copy with some oxidation to the gold on the spine, in a jacket with a small light stain to the spine, which is ever so slightly tanned. The jacket is a little shorter than the book, as in a number of first printing copies previously owned by us. A very attractive example of a scarce book.
