Description: One of an edition of 325 copies, this numbered '93', set in Bell type and printed at Whittington Court using the original wood engravings on Zerkall mould-made paper, by John and Rosalind Randle and Miriam Macgregor. 300 copies (of which this is one) were bound in Whittington marbled paper over boards, and 25 in Oasis goatskin, by Smith Settle & Co. Quarter cloth binding with gilt lettering to the spine; fore and lower edges of the pages are untrimmed. Small Quarto. 275 mm x 195 mm, pp. 48 with 21 wood-engravings. Now with a custom built slipcase by Christopher Shaw. A book in Fine condition.

Description: Limited edition of 325 copies, this being one of the 25 special copies bound in full russet morocco. Full morocco, top edge gilt, others uncut, 27 cm, [35] pp, 10 wood-engravings by Kathleen Lindsley and 10 by Edward Stamp (one repeated on the title-page). From the publisher's introduction: "Enid Wilson has lived all her life in the Lake District and is uniquely qualified to write the Diaries published here. Her grandfather began his working life as an apprentice to a photographer in Devizes in the 1850's, from where he went to London, and arrived in the Lake District as a journeyman photographer. His son, and Enid Wilson's father, was George Abraham, pioneer rock climber, photographer and author; Enid Wilson's mother was a gifted botanist. From writing her first Diary in 1950, Enid Wilson has contributed regular fortnightly pieces for The Guardian ever since.Edward Stamp and Kathleen Lindsley have each engraved ten illustrations to selected Diaries. Both are artists who work in other media also, but both are members of a new and blooming generation of wood engravers in this country." Copy number 25.
