Description: Good. Hardcover volume. Leather boards that have been rubbed and chipped from age. Standard edgewear to corners that shows boards underneath. Front board is detached from spine. Spine too is chipped and top inch shows signatures underneath. Rear board is still attached by a binding thread. First and second title pages are detached from binding. Volume has two title pages, one ornate and the other standard. Pages show remains of what appear to be an ancient water stain and foxing throughout. Yet the character of this volume remains intact. Dozens of handsome black and white illustrated plates throughout showcase various fauna in striking detail. All text is clean and readable. An exciting edition to any library.

Gilt spine labels are worn and only marginally readable, but remain complete with 2 per volume. Light to moderate foxing throughout all four volumes, with all text still quite readable. A good, solid copy of the classic work by Goldsmith in somewhat tattered but complete full leather. Pictures available upon request. All of our items are individually inspected and described.
