Description: This 7.625 x 10.25 inch hardcover book - with slipcase - is the 1930 first edition of this title as printed by the Grabhorn Press - with the 1930 date on the title page. The leather spine strip does show a few small spots but the gilt titling on the spine is all but fine - and overall - this book inside and out is in fine condition - with the interior text pages deckled fore-edges showing little sign of handling wear. The text pages show absolutely no damage or markings and the limitation page at the rear that 957 copies with this book showing no number for this copy. The slipcase is in only fair condition with the basic box still together - with the seams still quite tight - but the spine cardboard is now detached from the rest of the box - but present. This was an early Grabhorn imprint, as the Grabhorn company was just entering their run as one of the very best fine press operations anywhere. The artistry of the Grabhorn work still stands out today with the eye toward attractive combinations of binding, and printing, using the older styles and techniques of handwork from earlier times - still making these Grabhorn issues a treasure to have on the shelf.
