[Chanticleer 99]. This elegant edition with woodcuts by Blair Hughes-Stanton is the ninth book in the Golden Cockerel series of first editions by contemporary authors. Hughes-Stanton (1902 - 1981) was a major figure in the English wood-engraving revival in the twentieth century and was a founding member of the English Wood Engraving Society in 1925.
