Description: A nicely bound limited edition bibliography and critical study on the renowned author Henry Williamson, compiled towards the beginning of his career. A limited edition work, limited to four hundred and twenty copies. An important and uncommon bibliography and critical study of the works of Henry Williamson, one of the rarest Henry Williamson items.Williamson was a prolific and popular author of the twentieth century, best known for his works on wildlife, ruralism, and social history. His magnum opus is his fifteen-novel sequence 'A Chronicle of Ancient Sunlight'.This bibliography and study was published in the midst of his burgeoning career, only a few years after his Hawthornden winning novel 'Tarka the Otter'.Compiled by I. Waveney Girvan, with assistance of 'Another Hand'. It is a clear open secret that this 'Another Hand' is Williamson himself.Pencil note to the half-title claims 'Annotations by H. W. in pencil', the annotations being pencil lines to the margins. Rebound in a half morocco binding with patterned paper to the boards. Externally, smart, with some light marks and discolouration to the boards. A little rubbing to the extremities. Small closed tear to the front endpaper. Rubbed out ink inscription to the recto to the front endpaper, and a library label tipped in. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean, with a few odd handling marks. The occasional pencil line to the margins. Library stamp to the last leaf of test. Very Good Indeed
