First Edition Prices, Values and Auction Results

We collected a sample of 12 auction results of Goodner, Ross's The 75 Year History of Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, Southampton, 1891-1966 from 1 different auction houses. The lowest overall price realized in our sample was $360 and the highest overall price realized was $2400. The overall average price was $1162 and the median price realized for the book was $1020. There were 6 auctions (50%) with a price realized below the low estimate, 4 auctions (33%) exceeding the high estimates, and 2 auctions (17%) within the range of the low and high estimates. Auctions of interest include: a PBA sale on July 26, 2007 of a 1966 - Privately Printed edition for $2280 that described as "about fine with the fragile glassine"; a PBA sale on February 08, 2007 of a 1966 - Privately Printed edition for $1560 that described as "a nice and near fine copy"; a PBA sale on November 06, 2003 of a 1966 - Privately Printed edition for $2400 that described as "near fine or better";
