Whether it be linguistics, architecture, monarchy, or culture, one will sure to find ancient documents originated from Egypt. Holy pilgrimages to Egypt were a very popular topic to readers, with many travel accounts written down and recorded. One such account is by Constantin Volney, entitled Travels through Syria and Egypt. Volney recounts in two volumes his travels through Egypt, spending most of his time in Cairo. First editions of this book can be found on multiple auction sites for thousands of dollars!

If a collector is looking for something different to add to their collection, one should look at Observations on the Manners and Customs of the Egyptians by John Antes. Critics have hailed this book culturally important to the history of Egypt and perhaps influenced by Travels through Syria and Egypt by Volney. A first edition copy of this work can be worth $1,000.
