American born writer, Dan Simmons is most commonly known for the Hyperion Cantos and the Ilium/Olympos cycle series of books and novels. These critically acclaimed narratives cultivated an impeccable path of success for Simmons. Simmons is a science fiction, horror and fantasywriter with a penchant for blending various genres into one story line. Simmons' Song of Kali (1985) won the World Fantasy Award. He was nominated for and won various awards including the Hugo and Locus Awards.
A set of Simmons' novels sold through Heritage Auctions in May, 2009. The three first edition novels (two of the three copies are signed by the author) include Song of Kali (1985); Hyperion (1989) andThe Fall of Hyperion (1990). Song of Kali and Hyperion are both signed on the title pages. A standalone copy first edition, first printing replica of Hyperion with drawings by the author sold for $437.50 in February, 2012 and $358.50 in April, 2007.
